Curriculum Coordinator’s Corner…

Welcome!  My position as Curriculum Coordinator is to help and assist the teachers, parents and children here at St. David’s Episcopal Day School.  One of my pleasures is getting information to you, the parents, about current child development topics and activities you can do at home with your child.

To help you better understand what “Preschool” is all about, we use the phrase “Developmentally Appropriate Practices.”  It means as Early Childhood Educators, we provide a learning environment that is age appropriate and that also meets the individual needs of our young children.  We understand that children acquire certain skills within a particular age range but each child may develop these skills at different rates.  We recognize that different children have different learning styles.

At St. David’s, we are always striving to provide a “Developmentally Appropriate” program for our young children.  If you have any questions or topics you would like me to address, please let me know by emailing the school or placing a note in my mailbox in the office.  We look forward to working together with you to make “Preschool” an exciting and fun learning experience for your child!

Check out the list of wonderful parent and child books we have to lend to you in the school office!  Simply fill out a library card and leave it in our box!
