For more than seven decades, our preschool has been a place where young children are known, loved, and encouraged to wonder, explore, and grow. Established in 1955 by the Vestry of St. David’s Episcopal Church, our preschool has a rich tradition of nurturing children within a welcoming and caring community. We serve families with children ages two- to five-years-old, providing a joyful environment where curiosity is celebrated and each child is given room to develop at their own pace. St. David’s Episcopal Day school offers a vibrant and balanced preschool experience. Rooted in the Episcopal tradition, we believe the earliest years of a child’s life are a beautiful beginning filled with wonder, belonging, and the promise of all that is yet to come.

PROGRAM
St. David’s Episcopal Day School curriculum meets the needs of each child through developmentally appropriate practices, materials and methods. The whole child is developed — cognitive, social, physical, emotional and spiritual. The skilled teachers and specialists work to provide an enriching environment where the foundation for a love of learning and respect for others can grow.
Our class sizes are small, and there are always at least two skilled professionals available to assist the children. All classroom staff meet or exceed Delaware licensing standards. Our children exercise and strengthen their growing bodies in developmental movement classes. Field trips and special visitors are part of the program. Optional programs like Spanish, Soccer Shots, or Amazing Athletes are offer as enrichment throughout the school year.
St. David’s is a Christian institution, so a weekly chapel service is part of the school experience. This is a joyous time of worship through song, story and prayer, usually conducted by our Rector. Further emphasis is placed on Christian living by example and the inclusion of holiday themes. Parents of the children are welcome to participate in all aspects of the program. Non-Christian families are invited to share their heritage with us as well.
SUMMER PROGRAM
Our summer program for children ages 3-5 takes place in June, July, and August. This is a great opportunity to transition to our school! The summer program offers flexible full and half day options in theme sessions.
